Volunteers for Phase I Trailbuilding Urgently Needed!
Work on Phase I of the cycle trail scheme is about
to start (projected date 24 January 2005.) We have an extremely
tight timescale for spending the money as a good chunk of it has
to spent by 31 March 2005. Pete Laing has been working very hard
to put together plans, work schedules, costs etc and thinks it
is achievable - but to complete the scheme properly we will probably
need to use volunteer labour from both a costing and time scale
point of view. This will particularly apply to the Skills Area
and the building of features etc.
Vicky is looking to put together a list of volunteers that we
can call upon (possibly at short notice) to help when necessary.
Can you let me know if you are able to help and if so, when (or
if easier - when not?)
Looking for as many volunteers as possible!!!

Stop Press
Ollie Graham, Project Manager for Phase I, has arranged
two volunteer trailbuilding days starting at 9.30am on Saturday
9 April and Saturday 23 April. We have previously emailed asking
for volunteers and had a good response so we are hoping as many
of you as possible will be free on those days.
Ollie is looking for help in constructing features in the Skills
Area, help with putting together the bridges and help finishing
off the Skills Trail and Grove Link Trail.
If you are able to come, email Ollie at Oliver.Graham@groundwork.org.uk
so he has some ideas of numbers etc.
