Phase One Launch Event a Huge
Success
The 31st October 2005 marked
the completion of the Phase 1 Trail Development in the Forest
and to celebrate it a major launch event was held.
"The
media exposure was more than we could have asked for..."
With unusually good weather considering the timing of the launch,
the event was rated by all as a massive success. The event was
an opportunity for the Trailblazers to thank our funders for making
Phase 1 a reality but equally important was the aim of promoting
what is going on in Hamsterley to the wider world.
Some 55 guests came to the event which was a marvellous total.
There was a major media presence with representation from Tyne
Tees, Radio Cleveland, Northern Echo etc. We also had senior figures
from our funders, the local authorities and the Forestry Commission.
The feedback from our guests was resoundingly positive.
A superb barbeque was provided (thanks to Nico from the Ancient
Unicorn). Trailblazer riders were also able to put on an impressive
demonstration on the Skills Loop showing how the funding has created
one of the most highly-rated skills areas around.
The media exposure was more than we could have asked for with
major slots on Tyne Tees and Radio Cleveland.
The event provides the Trailblazers with a major platform to
be able to go on and make Phase 2 an equally resounding success.
Special thanks to Vicky, Ollie, Pete, Robin and everyone else
from the Trailblazers who helped out. You know who you are.
